On April 1st, 2009 Light Up Your Life invited friends to enjoy an evening of music and art photography accompanied with light refreshments.
80 attendees listened to two 30 minute performances from Jay Hunsberger, Tubist (Sarasota Orchestra),
James Wilson, Horn Virtuoso (Utah Symphony) and Yun-Ling Hsu, Taiwanese Pianist.
Jay & James began their musical collaboration when both were members of the University of South Florida music faculty. Yun-Ling joined the group to tour in US in April 2008. Their concerts feature a mix of jazz-influenced, cutting-edge and light-hearted music.
Art photography from Alyssia Lazin was displayed and introduced by the artist herself.
Alyssia was in attendance and explained how she transforms the ordinary subject into a painterly photographic image.
Having made her own paper for black and white photographs, the present choice of watercolor paper is intrinsic to her photographic expression.
